We spent a couple weeks in April visiting friends in NZ between OZ and Rarotonga. We spent a weekend at Hanmer with the Stokes, went to Nelson to see Jock and Rosemary Braithwaite, and John and Linda Dow,(John worked for me in NZ in 1969-70 and just retired as President of Newmont Australia, Jock was our business partner then.) Then we returned to Christchurch for more time with the Stokes. There we visited Mary Taylor, wife of the boy's music teacher at Medbury, Topsy Deans and Kate, who lives in Queenstown and is a skier/ landscaper, Claire Richards, and John and Olwyn Musgrove. We were in and out of Auckland going back and forth, visited the Leigh area, drove out to Piha west of Auckland, and had dinner with Padget and Stella Milsom, and on the last night met up with Mike and Mary Stokes and Jonathan and Anna Stokes and their kids for dinner. It was a real reunion trip! Kiwis are such great hosts and friends!
Here are some pics.
