China Pictures
Here's some of the pictures we took. I'm trying to put an album together to share at Christmas. Carrie, I need your scrapbooking help!

- We visited lots of markets. The local markets were the most interesting, versus the tourist markets. We did not get close to the chickens!

- The main hall was huge, but this is only one of several areas of Warriors, most of which have not been excavated, nor has the Qin (Chin) emperors tomb. He did this in about 200BC, rather than have his army burried with him, as was the custom. His succes

- Some of the wall was still not renovated. The Ming Dynasty renovated much of it in the 14-1500's and then modern China continued the renovation after the Cultural Revolution, in the 90's.

- People came to the Temple of Heaven grounds every day to dance, sing, play cards, and hang out. It was a real peoples park.

- Our first stop was Tianamen Square and Mao's tomb, which we didn't visit. We walked through the Forbidden City but it was crowded and just a bunch of buildings and courtyards - not very photogenic.
