I went to Denver last weekend to visit my friend Crisitina and see another Ween show at Red Rocks. It was a pretty good show. The flaming lips went on first this time. The stage at Red Rocks was too steep for Wayne to get inside the space bubble and walk on the crowd so he just had the roadies that dress like Santa Claus to push him around in front of the stage.

It was cool the Lips covered Bohemian Rapsody and War Pigs.

I heard an interesting story about the flaming lips last nite. Apparently they released an experimental 4 cd set in 1997. The cds were designed to be played simultaneously (stop me if you already know this) by 4 separate cd players. The idea is, you get your mates to come around with their portable cd players and all push the play button at the same time..... anyway although it was apparently critically acclaimed, it didn't sell a lot of copies. The explanation was something like it was because mostpeople who listen to experimental rock don't have three friends..... :cyclops:

ha! I had heard of that CD before but I liked your punch line.

I guess people have been following Ween around the country from show to show for years now, kinda like the grateful dead fans used to do. In the case of Ween it is a strange mix of jam band hippies, degenerate punker types, and other freaks. So I was thinking that a better term for a dedicated Ween fan would be a Weenhead.....but not a Weener head.

Here are a few songs from this show.

"I can't put my finger on it"
and
"I'll be your johnny on the spot."

They typically do this chanting intro to I can't put my finger on it.

and I added "Buenos Tardes" from the Berkeley show.
