The Great Canoe Adventure of 2011

I have to say that the trip hardly qualifies as a Babcock Adventure. There was no starvation, no injuries, no severe weather, no epic portages, and we did not run out of alcohol. But we did have fun!! 62 miles, 5 portages, 5 nights, bass, walleye, pike, muskie, 1 bottle of el Tapatio, four canoes and 10 Babcock's. Chris, Ada, Jon, Carrie, Jordan, Andy, David, Deirdre, Mike, and Emma.

Thanks to Pat and Dave for again hosting us on the ends and Jon and Carrie for getting it all together.

That would be good going, i reckon it would take at least 12 hours to drag a canoe from Nestor Falls to Crow Lake!

Here are some pics to add to the album. Sorry it has taken so long. The journals are being compiled and hope to have them uploaded before too much longer.

Another great trip this year. Thanks everyone for taking the time and making the trip to connect our far-flung family of adventurers. I am looking forward to our next one.

I also wanted to thanks Dave and Pat again for setting things up so nicely for us. The trip went off like clockwork. The only problem was that there wasn't enough time to do everything that we wanted to do.

Some amazing pictures Jon, you guys did a great job with the camera. I have to say those are some pretty impressive fish - any of those Walleye, Muskie, or Bass would look pretty good on the trophy wall! Another great trip and i bet you are already thinking about the next one...

Good to see that Carrie and Andy know to keep their stick on the ice.

great photos Jon and Andy! We set Emmy off at G & Gs last night and said our goodbyes. sad to see her go... we had a really great time and will have some great stuff to laugh about (just between us). Nothing like four days in a car and 5 in a canoe to get you familiar with each other.

Also wanted to share the lyrics to a song that Andy and Jordan now know well. we sang it on the last day as we made waves for Dave and Pats.

Now the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.
All together, now the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.
Now the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.
Now the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.

Now the noses on the faces of the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.
All together, now the noses on the faces of the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.
Now the noses on the faces of the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.
Now the noses on the faces of the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.

Now the boys who put the powder on the noses on the faces of the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.
[Repeat 4 times]

Now the fascinating witches who put the scintilating stiches in the britches of the boys who put the powder on the noses on the faces of the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus, were just passing by.
[Repeat 4 times]

Now if you want to take some pictures of the fascinating witches who put the scintilating stiches in the britches of the boys who put the powder on the noses on the faces of the ladies of the harem of the court of King Catactacus...

...you're too late! Because they've just... passed... by!

Here are some plugs for the trip next time. I took a bunch of faded ones that were found and some ones that weren't optimal in pattern and converted them.
