Fire near the McCloud preserve

There was a lightning strike that started a fire last week and winds and rough terrain have been making it hard to control. We are safely out of the preserve and are watching this kind of slo-mo incident, hoping that the 1300 plus firefighters can keep it from jumping the river and burning the cabins and woods down there.

Here is a link with current and archived information (the compound is just opposite of where Ladybug Ck. enters the McCloud)

The fire is backing down to the river and everyone is feeling more call about the slow underburn. That said, it could smolder and be a possible threat until the first rains of autumn.
Dropped a great big Doug fir across the river to make an access bridge.
