Carrie and Jon - 30 years and going

Carrie and I got away for a week to Nuevo Vallarta to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Weather was hot with a few afternoon showers but we kept cool reading and watching US open. Made an excursion out to the Mariettas islands and saw some blue footed boobies and a bunch of friggin birds.
Snorkling was OK but water was rough and since summer is the rainy season water was a bit cloudy. Made some Normandy style landings on the beach. Was very fun. Also took a Sierra Madre tour where we 4 wheeled up a river bottom until it turned rocky. then hiked over into the next drainage and picked up the 4WD again down to the beach for a BBQ and swimming. Was really great and the jungle was awesome. Crazy bugs everywhere.

- This is a native coconut. We broke it open and the meat was like the coconut we know but shaped like a big walnut.
