Our last camping trip

Post by Grampa & Gramma »

We spent last week in central Utah and our ice didn't even melt1 It was at or near freezing at night but warm and sunny during the day. We caught enough trout for a meal, did crosswords, played golf, read a lot, and a few other things.
Then we went to the Gobblin Valley-Temple Mountain area. We found a nice secluded camp site just above Wild Horse Canyon, where it was fairly quiet. We visited Gobblin Valley State Park, found garden rocks near Temple Mountain, walked the canyon, read, etc.
It was a good rest after a fairly intense week of getting the garden and yard ready for next spring.
Our camp at Ferron was by the river.

The sun would go behind the mountain at 4 PM so it would be time to light the fire.

We stopped at the big snake on the Moore cutoff on our way south.

Super Dog Meets Temple Mountain. Lots of old Uranium mines, dinasaur bones, petrified wood, and ripple marks.

Gobblin Valley is a pretty unique place, just right for Holloween.

The Wild Horse Canyon walls were steep but the walk was easy, and warm.

Cool in the shade, though.
