Our August garden

Post by Grampa & Gramma »

Thanks Chris and Ada - look what you have wrought! Lots of carrots and beets coming. Millions of little red and orange tomatoes. Yellow pear-shaped ones just starting! Dozens of butternut squash. Beans blanched and in the freezer! Romas are just starting, only a little room left in the freezer, but we're eating everything as much as we can. Thank heaven for zucchini lasagna, zucchini quiche, zucchinni chocolate cake, zucchini hor'derves baked with gorgonzola and a small red tomato, etc.

We love it!

Your yard is looking great. We planted some tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant. All doing well and producing abundant fruit. Just finished a tomato sandwich for lunch. Our pear and peach trees also produced well this year. The drought was good for growing fruit providing there was irrigation.

Rainfall has been good and the grass is greening up. The last storm knocked the top out of the dawn redwood :(

I agree jon, that garden sure looks great! Winter veges here looking in good shape, plenty of lettuce, coriander and snow peas. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the peppers, eggpland and tomatoes.
