Free Basin

Post by Michael »

Well I made it into San Francisco last weekend. There was an art exhibit I wanted to check out. It is called the Free Basin and is an indoor wooden skate bowl. I made down early on Sunday to check it out but it didn't open until noon. On the way back to my car I realized that I locked my keys inside. For some reason, as I was waiting for the AAA guy I kept hearing "Everybody talking" from Midnight Cowboy. During the wait I checked out Neck Face's work on the nearby buildings.

The AAA guy came around noon so I got my keys and headed back to the bowl. It was free if you were skating and it was pretty crowded. The cool thing about the Basin is that you can go underneath it and listen to the people taking their runs. It was pretty fun but a real snake session and I found it hard to get in. It is in town until October so maybe I'll go back at lunch some day.
