Hunting season is coming to a close for the year and it has been a fun season. The highlight was having Jason come out for a bow hunt in Indiana. We hunted in a couple of different places. This first spot was in SE Indiana at my friends place. We were hunting about 90 acres of Ohio river breaks country. Mostly scrub with some larger wooded areas. Nice cabin for us to stay in with all of the amenities. This is Jason's first deer with a bow. Good shot Jason. They're hard to hit when they're that size. Nice and tender too!
Hunting is from tree stands. Wait for the deer to come by.

I got one at Patoka as well.
We moved to public property in the SW part of the state (Patoka Lake) later in the week and Jason got another deer. His first buck.
The stands we used are 'climbers' so that we could shift stand sites quickly. Each time we go out we usually pick a new spot. At least the scenery changes and there are a new batch of squirels to watch while waiting for the deer.
This is a shot of the woods in late October. The leaves were late coming down and the weather was unseasonably warm. Jason is standing with my friend Tony at one of our favorite hunting spots.
