Viva La Mexico!

Post by Grampa & Gramma »

We had a great time in Cabo. Very lazy two weeks. Got a car for a week and toured some beaches and places we hadn't been before. Went up the East Coast half way to La Paz for a night. Visited some beaches south of Todos Santos, looking for surfing places for Mike! Weather was good, food was good, margaritas were good, what else can I say? Here's some pictures, etc.

Here's the best picture! The mountain behind is the one Jordan climbed 12 years ago, and where the frigate birds soar.

The Poem

Post by Grampa & Gramma »

Mike is training me in computer and web page management! Lets see if I can get the d poem in the right place this time so its all there!

FUN IN THE SKY

Last year we watched the evening frigates soar
Above the tattered heap of xenolithic granite rocks
That stands between our beach, the busy town and harbor.
Relaxed we were, inspired by floating friends above the tops,

Who, sleek and smooth, seem frozen slim dark lines,
Unmoving chevron wings and pronged tail behind.
Graphic witness to nature?s incomprehensible design,
When swooping low, a certain sign of an enjoying mind.

Then incongruity in heavens sky-blue vault unfolds:
Ugly, stubby, brown, blunt-winged pelican arrives,
And soars and floats, and, like swooping frigate, dives,
Finds life away from white-stained rocks and plunging cold!

So now again we sit and watch the frigates soar,
Then pelican arrives, and with him, seven more!

The last picture was a pelican that thought he was a gull!
