Chris and Ada told us at Christmas that they would come in May and help us put in the garden. They did a great job! It really helped us old folks! we had a list of about 20 things, and the pictures will tell the story of most of them. No pictures of turning over our king sized mattress or trimming the trees out front! Or cooking, etc. Sunday was Mother's Day so the family gathered at Mother's house. Saturday was Jason's birthday party at their house, and I'll post some picture of that occasion seperately. Dave brought Jocko over to help!

We had new ties put in the front so C & A put the old ones along the edges of the upper garden in the back yard.
The maple roots disturbed the bricks in the back walkway.
They fixed them, got them back in the right order, too
Then we had morning tea on the back porch.
Our trellis was falling down so we got an engineer (Dave) to help stablize it.
After all the gardens were edged Jason got some mulch and were spread it over the gardens. Steven loaded the wheelbarrows.
Mom and Jason spread it.
We were up early every morning, got to work right after coffee and tea on the porch.
C & A dug up the gardens, then turned in our compost, some gypsum, and some mulch, raked it, and on Monday we planted tomatoes, squash, beans, beets, zucchini, and Mom planted her tubs and flowers. Dad supervised!
We had already planted peas by the poppies.
We have lots of ruhbarb and most of the tomatoes are in the lower garden.
Here are the ties bordering the upper garden. Thanks, C & A!
Ada and Amanda got to be buddies!
Chris and Dad were buddies, too!
Sunday was Mother's Day. Dressed for Church.
We had dinner at Mother's house.
Ada had us put the chive blossoms on the salad along with the crasins. They were spicy good!
